How much money can I get out of a wrecked 97 Chevy Malibu?
wellLATEEDAH asked:
I have a 97 Chevy Malibu that is wrecked on the front-end. I still owe about $450 on the car and the person I bought it from is offering to just write off the balance due if I give the car back to them. The car has about 125,000 miles on it. It still runs but is not currently drivable. The right front door will not open and the back seat is buckled in. Besides those things, the car is in good condition. Has tires that are 7 months old and new motor in it. Should I give it back to them and let them write off the $450, or can I make more money on it by selling it? HELP! Thanks!

Here's a couple of pictures of the car…

Give it back to him. Malibu's are a dime a dozen. Unless you no someone really interested in a cheap american made car they wanna fix up, sell it for more.

You could chop the car for parts and sell the parts on eBay. Happens all the time. You could easily get more than $450.

It really depends on the energy you want to invest. carman is right you can most likely get more by parting it out, but the time invested will be huge. trying to sell it as is you probably wont get that much. your best bet is give it back and start fresh.
